SCDS Christmas Picnic in the Park!
Don't forget: Sunday 20th December - Botanic Park!

Well Guys and Girls, Christmas is almost upon us! So, with all the exciting, busy Christmas & Salsa events on through this period, the Salsa Connection Crew thought it'd be nice for something different... A Christmas Picnic instead!

That's right, a good old fashioned picnic! The Salsa Connection Crew would like to see you and your family come and join us at the Botanic Park (Cnr Hackney Rd & Plane Tree Dr) for a day of fun in the sun! BBQs, wine, Frisbees, cricket, talking, laughing, socialising and perhaps even a spot of bare foot salsa in the grass!

We'll even be running a low impact, bare foot ZUMBA® Class in the Grass! If you haven't tried it, this is a perfect opportunity!!

WHAT TO BRING:
SMILEY FACES
- A rug and chairs
- Some Shade & Sunscreen
- Your own food and drink (incl BBQ meat, salsa, wine, soft drink, nibbles, etc)
- A portable BBQ (we’ll have one, but one isn’t enough sometimes!)

Johnny Vazquez was a HUGE HIT!

Yes, THANK YOU to everyone that came to the workshops and parties! What an awesome weekend! He danced, he sang, he joked, he entertained... Johnny Vazquez did it all! He even treated those there on the Friday night to an acapella version of one of his favourite Marc Anthony songs! A true entertainer and people's person! Such a thrill to have him here!

Johnny & Liliana thoroughly enjoyed themselves here in Adelaide and were impressed with all those that came to support the weekend!

We'd also like to take a moment to thank Richard, Rebecca, John, Nikki, Glen, Tom, Jess and all those that stayed that bit extra Sat night to give us a hand packing up. The community feeling & effort really showed and was noticed by Johnny & Liliana.

Carlos Cinta (USA) Bachata Workshops!
Of Mexican & African heritage, Carlos Cinta was born in San Francisco and raised in Chicago and is now known as “el unico Bachatero”. He has developed his own unique smooth style of Bachata which combines traditional Bachata (Dominican style) with modern Bachata. His trademark smooth, sexy moves blend with interesting turn patterns, close partner work & Dominican footwork.

Because of his carefree, light-hearted and fun attitude towards dancing, people are ultimately drawn to his Bachata style and his teaching methods. Carlos has recently released a DVD series with three volumes. His "Bachata Trilogy" can be seen at www.carloscinta.com.

Surf's Up Write Up! Kevin, Chelsea & the Salsa Connection Crew headed off to Byron Bay a few weekends ago and it was fabulous! Picante Latin Dance & Bachateros put on a great show, with such a diverse range of styles and latin flavours that no one missed out all weekend! Parties, workshops, performances, dinners, the beach, the sun and the rain... it was such a different and exciting weekend, but still had that chilled out Byron feel to it. Many thanks to Sky Blue and her team for making it an awesome weekend!! The Byron Latin Fiesta will be on again next year and rest assured Salsa Connection has already marked a spot on the beach to throw our towel. Looking forward to it already!

Johnny Vazquez teaches and performs all over the world to sell-out shows. He is known for his precise, clean and super fast style and his unforgettable performances and choreographies, whilst maintaining an overwhelming charisma, contagious party spirit and humble personality. His workshops at the Sydney Salsa Congress have been full to the point of overflowing and next year’s congress will be no different.

Kevin, Chelsea & the Salsa Connection Crew are off to Byron Bay this weekend to represent Adelaide (and Sasla Connection!!) at yet ANOTHER national salsa event!

Run by our friends at Picante Latin Dance, Kevin & Chelsea will be there to teach TWO "On2" Salsa workshops as well as perform at this, the 4th Byron Latin Fiesta. With a number of students and friends already booked in and making their way to join us up there, it looks like it's going to be an AWESOME weekend to enjoy the beach, dance, catch up with some of our interstate friends and generally get away from it all!

If you're not coming with us this time, chat to us about coing with us to the next event Salsa Connection will be a part of - there's plenty more coming up - we make sure of it!

The Byron Latin Fiesta runs from Friday 6th November through to Sunday 8th November, wish us luck on our tans (Kevin will need more than luck)!
