Salsa Connection will be showcasing Adelaide's first ever "Salsa On2" Performance Team!
On the back of our success at the Australian Salsa Classic (6th place, Professional On2 Division), we are really excited about the opportunity to continue to raise the profile of salsa dancing in South Australia. South Australia was definitely noticed at that event, both on and off the stage, and we want the momentum to continue!
So this is an invitation to all Int / Adv salsa dancers around Adelaide who are interested in broadening their salsa experience... If you're interested in challenging yourself above and beyond the norm, come along on Saturday, 13th of September to Salsa Connection's On2 Bootcamp, to find out about performing with us.
The Salsa Connection Student Performance Team is a fantastic opportunity to improve you and your dancing through a very focussed series of workshops, where the goal is to have a polished team choreography ready for public performance at a national level. Benefits include:

Improve your styling
A focussed teamwork environment

Please note: In order to be considered for the On2 Performance Team you must do the bootcamp, unless by private arrangement. Also, we are more than happy for dancers who are working with or performing with another group to join our team, we only ask that you let us know in advance and that you can be sure you can honour both commitments.

Salsa Connection at Parks Alive 2008!
Parks Alive 2008 will be hosted by our good friends at Smooth Moves Dance Studio. This event is a state government initiative to promote healthy lifestyle, physical and cultural activity in local parks and reserves.
Salsa it up with DJ Alex B at the Bindara reserve and have some fun in the sun, by the beautiful Brighton esplanade with the whole family.

Time to welcome the arrival of Summer, Adelaide!
And what better way than with some Salsa by the Sea!!!
We wanted an excuse to have a social get together and a dance, catch up with friends, and give our Beginners 1 and Beginners 2's their Course Graduation Night... so we decided to once again chat to the folks at Bacchus and have arranged a shindig that all are invited too!
Not only will there be Kevin, Chelsea and the Salsa Connection crew, but we loads of other teachers and students from other dance studios around Adelaide are already coming... so why not come down, socialise, dance and have fun with a huge variety of people...
It doesn't matter whether you are a Beginner, an Intermediate dancer or even a teacher... all are welcome and all are invited!
We will have drinks specials on the night, plus Bacchus do dinner for anyone that wants to venture down early.
There will of course be plenty of music for all, including Salsa (of course!), Merengue, Bachata, Cha-cha, Zouk, etc...
PLUS... we'll be holding a raffle and we'll have door prizes on the night...

The 2008 Amateur Salsa Competition! Open to ALL amateur dancers of any level!
The Latino Grooves Amateur Salsa Competition is an annual event which allows students to challenge themselves and show off all the exciting moves and skills they have learnt! Although first, second and third place winners do emerge, it is all in the name of fun! Competing is an excellent opportunity to challenge yourself and improve.

The 2007 event was a huge success for with 5 couples entering! We plan to help latino Grooves make the 2008 event even bigger!

That's right Adelaide, 27th, 28th & 29th March 2009 will bring us the first ever Adelaide Salsa Festival!
Your Salsa Connection Dance Studio will be one of the studios helping our friends at Latino Grooves to put on this massive event!
While some details are yet to be revealed, we can say that you get to look forward to not only some of the best performances and workshops from the fantsatic talent the whole of Australia has to offer, but there'll also be plenty of wonderful International guests to help spice things up!
